The Practical Course “CRISPR-Based Gene Knockout” / The XX International Summer School “Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, and Biomedicine”

The program followed a learning-by-doing approach and covered the complete CRISPR experimental workflow: from formulating a scientific hypothesis to validating genome editing outcomes. Participants worked with real experimental models and independently performed all key steps of a CRISPR-based gene knockout.

  • mastered the process of designing a gene knockout experiment;
  • performed genome editing in CHO cells — a eukaryotic producer of recombinant proteins;
  • carried out key laboratory procedures, including transfection and validation of results;
  • participated in workshops and discussions that helped structure and consolidate the acquired knowledge.
